HOLY MEET-UP!  (Welcome to my page to anyone who is visiting from HEAB!)

Yesterday was pretty much the most surreal day of my life!  I kid you not- four months ago when I began becoming relatively more active in the blogosphere, a meet-up with Heather was always in the back of mind.  What’s not to love about that HEAB?  I’m pretty sure the whole blogosphere would want to meet her.  Around the same time, I found Deb, the Smoothie Queen and was immediately enthralled with her writing style, smoothie porn and personal story.  In fact I remember getting so excited when she commented one of my earlier posts.  She has since become such a great bloggie friend.  So naturally what a way to have my first blogger meet up.  They just happened to be in my neck of the woods in AZ too!  I had no doubt that I would be attending this little venture.

Averie is on vacation, otherwise she would have been minutes away to add to quite the panel of bloggie friends.  :)

Heather’s MIL took us on a gorgeous trail at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.  Alice was so kind and I loved meeting her!  She was our guide along the 6.4 mile course.  It was a gorgeous sunny day in AZ and I could not have asked for better weather.  My mama also joined us (as she was my chauffeur and sleep buddy during the road trip.)

First meeting Heather and Deb- they were everything and more than I expected from their blogs!  Honestly, their blogs do their natural beauty, hot bods, and sweet words no justice!  I was in awe.

I tell no lie- I’m 5′ 2’!  And could not for the life of me stare at the blinding sun.  C’est la vie.

This is my “OMG! I just hiked with HEAB and Smoothie Girl!!!!” face.

^On top of that, Jenn from Eating Bender was ALSO in town!  Holy goodness blogs! She met us for lunch at my suggestion of Pita Jungle (the restaurant in which my header picture is taken), one of my favorite restaurants in Phoenix.  That is COMING SOON to Tucson!  Yippeee yay PITA JUNGLE!

Letting the food get cold. Naturally.

PITA (I told you I thought of you Susan!), babaghanouj and hummus to start.

Deb and I both ordered the turkey pesto lavosh wrap sub CHICKEN, no cheese, pesto and dressing on the side.

Gelato right next door?  We couldn’t resist.  I ordered the coffee flavor.

It was a day I’ll never forget.  Thank you ladies for a great end to my Christmas weekend!   I seriously hope to add many more meet ups with many more bloggettes in the near 2010 year.

New years intention?!   Yes, please.

XO,

Bekah

I am so freakin pissed, sorry!, that I am on the other side of the world and FOUR of the COOLEST girls in the b’sphere were at the Pita Jungle 1 mile from my house!!!!!!!!!! OMG, the outrage, sadness, and arrgghhhhh!!! I am feeling! LOL :) Seriously, I woulda given anything to meet up with you girls, and I am headed home on Wed. Two days too late. Dang!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally missed out, sigh.

Thanks for the Intentions, shout out!

And glad you’ve been enjoying my posts and ?’s of the Day. And that they’ve been resonating with you. Like Intentions (vs. resolutions) and just doing slight things a little differently in the future to enhance already good choices, but just make things a smidge better, stuff like that…I’ve loved reading your replies and thoughts, my love.

Anyway, we will have to catch up…soon. B/c on Jan 24th you’ll be an east coast chica, I realize. So…holler when you can about when you’ll be in Phx and we can get something going w/ Madeline, too.

    xoxo

    BEEKS!!!

Oh my gosh, you are the cutest thing ever. Had a blast yesterday. Seriously, just like I said in my post – hiking with some amazing chicas & great eats (LOVED Pita Jungle!!!) made me so happy.

You and your mom were so fun to hang out with, and your relationship with your family is awesome. I love that you workout with your parents and that they eat so well. My dad wouldn’t even know how to work a VIta-Mix much less put protein powder in it. Ha ha. Love him, but we’re soooo different when it comes to our eating and exercise habits.

Again, thanks to you and your mamacita for driving all the way to Phoenix to hike with us, and I cannot wait to join you (via your blog) on your upcoming culinary school adventures. Please remember me when you have your own Food Network show…can’t wait to watch you sharing some tahini love with the rest of America. :)
    Love you!!!

Beeks! All I can say is that it was an ultimate pleasure to spend the day with you and your mom. You are adorable, yet mature for your age (in a GOOD way!) and you will go far in your career, I have no doubt.

I can’t wait to hear about all of your adventures in school back east- and if you ever pass through LA for some reason, you MUST let me know so that we can hang out.

Thanks for the sweet post and superb title! :-)
