HOLY MEET-UP! (Welcome to my page to anyone who is visiting from HEAB!)
Yesterday was pretty much the most surreal day of my life! I kid you not- four months ago when I began becoming relatively more active in the blogosphere, a meet-up with Heather was always in the back of mind. What’s not to love about that HEAB? I’m pretty sure the whole blogosphere would want to meet her. Around the same time, I found Deb, the Smoothie Queen and was immediately enthralled with her writing style, smoothie porn and personal story. In fact I remember getting so excited when she commented one of my earlier posts. She has since become such a great bloggie friend. So naturally what a way to have my first blogger meet up. They just happened to be in my neck of the woods in AZ too! I had no doubt that I would be attending this little venture.
Averie is on vacation, otherwise she would have been minutes away to add to quite the panel of bloggie friends. :)
Heather’s MIL took us on a gorgeous trail at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Alice was so kind and I loved meeting her! She was our guide along the 6.4 mile course. It was a gorgeous sunny day in AZ and I could not have asked for better weather. My mama also joined us (as she was my chauffeur and sleep buddy during the road trip.)
First meeting Heather and Deb- they were everything and more than I expected from their blogs! Honestly, their blogs do their natural beauty, hot bods, and sweet words no justice! I was in awe.
I tell no lie- I’m 5′ 2′! And could not for the life of me stare at the blinding sun. C’est la vie.
This is my “OMG! I just hiked with HEAB and Smoothie Girl!!!!” face.
^On top of that, Jenn from Eating Bender was ALSO in town! Holy goodness blogs! She met us for lunch at my suggestion of Pita Jungle (the restaurant in which my header picture is taken), one of my favorite restaurants in Phoenix. That is COMING SOON to Tucson! Yippeee yay PITA JUNGLE!
Letting the food get cold. Naturally.
PITA (I told you I thought of you Susan!), babaghanouj and hummus to start.
Deb and I both ordered the turkey pesto lavosh wrap sub CHICKEN, no cheese, pesto and dressing on the side.
Gelato right next door? We couldn’t resist. I ordered the coffee flavor.
It was a day I’ll never forget. Thank you ladies for a great end to my Christmas weekend! I seriously hope to add many more meet ups with many more bloggettes in the near 2010 year.
New years intention?! Yes, please.
